The host always takes part in the choice or decides himself of the themes addressed during his program, in collaboration with his team and in the editorial line of the channel/station.
Its influence is variable according to its personality and according to the type of emission. If necessary, he determines the musical interludes that will punctuate his program.
Its primary mission is to animate the debates, by explaining the topics addressed and their issues, by reviving the guests and the interlocutors.
Prior research work
The radio and TV presenter immerses himself in the subjects he deals with on the show, by documenting himself and meeting the possible speakers.
He must know and understand the data of the problem well, in order to make the content of the program clear and interesting for the general public.
How to become an animator?
There is no specific training for the profession of radio/TV presenter. The most important thing is to feel comfortable in front of a microphone and to have a good general culture. However, it is possible to come into contact with the world and the technique of the media in different ways.

Schools
The Studio Ecole de France (92) is one of the few schools training in the profession of radio presenter (2 years after the baccalaureate).
Note: it is best to accumulate experience within the framework of internships.
How much does an animator earn?
The host’s salary is extremely variable depending on his notoriety and his employer, the duration of the program and its frequency. It is generally between the minimum wage and €3,000 per month.
But it can be much higher for the most famous animators: up to €60,000 per month.
What qualities are needed to become an animator?
This job requires a lot of energy and endurance.
The facilitator necessarily has good verbal fluency and a sense of improvisation.
He demonstrates composure in all circumstances and shines with his repartee.
He is also imaginative and dynamic to easily adapt to guests and subjects.
