Who can benefit from a Future Employment Contract?
Several conditions are necessary to benefit from a Future Employment Contract:
Age:
- be between 16 and 25 years old;
- be under the age of 30 for people with disabilities.
The social and professional situation:
- be without a diploma and out of school;
- not having a job despite receiving assistance from the public authorities;
- hold a BEP or a CAP, and have looked for work for at least 6 months out of the last 12 months;
- have accessed the first cycle of higher education, with 12 months of job search over the last 18 months, while residing in a ZUS (Sensitive Urban Zone), an overseas department or a rural revitalization zone.
Who can employ a young person on a Future Employment Contract?
The Future Employment Contract system is a contract of private right which excludes the State as well as individual employers. The employer can therefore be:
- a local authority or a public institution;
- a company with high potential for job creation;
- an association ;
- an integration structure through economic activity;
- a group of employers for associations or companies.
The Future Employment Contract can be concluded for a determined time (between 1 and 3 years), or indeterminate. The working time may neither be less than 5.30 p.m. nor exceed 35 hours per week.
Aid from the Future Employment Contract
The Future Employment Contract takes the form of aid paid by the State to the employer :
- 35% of the gross minimum wage for the market, industrial or commercial sector (€505.88 on 1 January 2014 for a full-time job);
- 47% of the gross minimum wage for the integration through economic activity sector (€679.33 on 1 January 2014);
- 75% of the gross minimum wage for the non-market, public or voluntary sector (€1,084.04 on 1 January 2014).

In terms of social contributions, the Future Employment Contract does not allow the employee to receive precariousness allowances, and exempts the employer from certain taxes or social contributions.
The Future Employment Contract is based on a request for assistance made to Cap Emploi (in the case of a disabled person), the Pôle Emploi or the local Mission.
Future Employment Contract for teachers
The Future Employment Contract “teacher” allows young people under the age of 25 (30 for students with disabilities) towork part-time in a schoolin addition to their university studies.
The Future Employment Contract “teacher” primarily concerns students:
- destined for teaching duties;
- low-income and scholarship holder;
- in the second or third year of a bachelor’s degree or in the first year of a master’s;
- having resided and completed their secondary studies in ZUS (Sensitive Urban Zone), ZRR (Rural Revitalization Zone) or overseas;
- pursuing their higher education in one of the 12 priority metropolitan and overseas regions.
