Get the maintenance grid
If you work in a large company, the personnel department or the human resources department has documents relating to the annual interviews: assessment interview grid, job description grid and skills grid.
You are entitled to request these documents, they allow you to have the same references as your line manager.
Gather items related to your work
You must collect as much information as possible about your work for the year.
Focus on very concrete elements: turnover, number of contracts concluded, number of new customers, project completion times, costs, etc.
You can compare these numbers year over year to highlight your performance.
Take stock of past years
Summarize them previous interviewsre-read the letters of objectives set then.
Think about your strengths and weaknesses so as not to be surprised if you have a related question: compile them and analyze them in a summary note on which you can rely during the interview .
Think about your expectations :
- Training ;
- in new missions;
- changing position.
Fill your grid according to all these elements.
Prepare your action plan
At the end of the interview, your new objectives should in principle be identified:
- the points to be worked on;
- new responsibilities;
- expected results for the coming year.
If the objectives set by your hierarchy are high, you can try to negotiate the means of achieving them (deadlines or stages of implementation, additional training, etc.).
Reread everything with a clear head.
