Summary
First step: registration
Previously, it was possible to withdraw a registration file directly from the town hall of your home. Today, this is mostly done via the internet. Registration is simple, just go to the website www.jeunes.gouv.fr, then click on the name of your region to obtain a form to fill out.
You will then have to send to the departmental management of your region a ID photo valid to send by mail or internet.
Second step: find a theoretical internship
Once the registration is complete, it is now a question of finding an organization which will take care of making you carry out a theoretical training course of 8 days minimum.
Even if the training organizations help to find an establishment, it is essential to do the research yourself.
This is a step to validate if you want to move on to the next step of the training (the practical part).
The intern can complete an internship paid or unpaid. The internship generally takes place in a holiday, leisure or youth center or in a regularly declared scouting centre.
Important: the trainee must check his presence on the additional declaration form sent by his employer shortly before the start of his stay, otherwise his internship will not be taken into account.
Third step: find a practical internship
The trainee must now choose an establishment in order to proceed to the practical side of his training. As for the theoretical part, the trainee will carry out his own research according to his network, his knowledge, on the internet…
If you want change training organization for this second part, all you have to do is choose the session of your choice by registering with your ID number, present on the BAFA registration booklet.
Diploma validation
The final decision then rests with the jury who will or will not grant the diploma to the trainee.
Usually the jury’s decision follows theopinion of the supervisors. Thus, if for example the opinions of the supervisors state that the trainee is insufficient, it is then possible that the obtaining of the diploma will be refused to him. The trainee can then request an interview with the jury, or directly retake the exam.
