Internship agreement: what is it?
The internship agreement is signed by 3 parties: the intern, the company, and a third party (usually the school or university). This is the guarantee that the internship is part of a pedagogical logic. The convention makes it possible to avoid any abuse on the part of companies.
This agreement regulates the often vague status of the “trainee”. It also establishes a signed agreement between the intern and thebusiness, such as the number of monthly working hours, remuneration (compulsory for all internships of 2 months or more) and the specifics of the internship.
This agreement establishes a work accident insurance. It is therefore essential.
Obtain an internship agreement from your university or school
If it is a mandatory internship during your student course, there is no problem. The establishment in which you are studying automatically issues you an agreement and you remain under the responsibility of the’university orschool.
Be careful however, if you are a student and you are doing an internship that has no direct link with your educational course, you must obtain the agreement of your university on the specific mission that you have chosen to accept.
Obtain an internship agreement when you are not a student
The real difficulty, which many people face, is to do an internship without being registered in a study establishment. You therefore do not have student status.
If you have under 25you can contact your local mission and register there, pass an interview: this one is able to issue you an internship agreement in connection with your project.
To find the local mission nearest to you, consult the directory of local missions.
This approach is fully free. On the other hand, the duration of the internship is limited : most often a week but can go from one day to one monthcontinuous or not
Please note: don’t forget that if you are registered (even for a few hours of lessons) at the CNAM, the CNED or certain correspondence course and training organizations, they can also issue you an agreement. internship.
