Facing customers

How much does a bank account manager earn?
The account manager receives between €1,400 to €1,700 gross per month.
Training to become a bank account manager
Bac + 2 level
This is the minimum level required to become a customer service representative. Several BTS or DUT, offering a short and professional training, are recommended.
- BTS bank;
- BTS negotiation and customer relationship;
- BTS management of business units (MUC);
- DUT marketing techniques.
Baccalaureate level + 3
This training can be supplemented by a professional license in the field:
- form the bank ;
- finance;
- and insurance.
Baccalaureate level + 5
To specialize in business consulting, it is best to continue with a pro master’s degree in banking and finance.
Qualifications needed to become a bank account manager
Expert
The account manager knows all the services offered by his establishment. He is able to adapt them to the personal situations of his clients, especially in the event of new projects or changes in situation such as:
- buying a house;
- a marriage ;
- a divorce…
For this, he is interested in all the documents he receives, in what the competitors are doing, and he follows internal training.
Rigorous
The account manager must be particularly attentive to the personal situations of his clients. It is not aimed at everyone in the same way, and above all does not offer the same banking services. He must also be vigilant regarding certain delicate portfolios.
Commercial
The account manager must achieve sales objectives that are set by the hierarchy. He must therefore be particularly comfortable speaking and be persuasive in order to develop a client portfolio.

As in most banking professions, with experience the account manager can rise in rank. He becomes marketing product manager, wealth manager, credit analyst… Within his establishment, he can also progress to a position of branch manager or project manager.
