Summary
Who can benefit ?
Anyone who has practiced:
- during at least 3 years a particular professional activity;
- continuously or not;
- salaried or not;
- on a voluntary basis (association, union);
- related to the degree or qualification sought.
What are the advantages ?
Experience acquired for at least 3 years can be taken into account for obtaining a professional diploma or a professional qualification certificate (CQP).
The professional certifications concerned are listed in a national directory on the website www.cncp.gouv.fr.
What should be done ?
Start by contacting a Council Information Point (PIC), responsible for welcoming, informing and advising anyone with a view to validating their experience.
We find the PICs:
- at the employment center;
- in Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CCI);
- in the Chambers of Trades;
- in the Information and Orientation Centers (CIO);
- …
The PIC helps the candidate to find his way among the certifications to which he can claim and indicates to him the organization to which he must send his request, which depends on the diploma sought (universities, schools, ministries, etc.).
The candidate must address his request for validation of acquired experience to the authority or organization that issues the diploma, title or certificate of qualification, within the deadlines and under the conditions that this organization has set.
the application file (also called admissibility booklet) must contain:
- the description of the different stages of the career;
- a motivation letter detailing the professional objectives and their consistency with the diploma requested;
- a sworn statement indicating that no other application will be submitted for the same year and the same diploma.
Please note: the admission procedures may vary from one institution to another, inquire with the continuing education department of each institution. A support service can be proposed to help the candidate to complete his file. It can be provided by the certifying bodies themselves. This mainly involves assistance in formulating the experience to be validated, assistance in compiling the validation file and preparation for the interview with the jury.
What happens next?
The file is submitted to a jury who examines it, hears the candidate, decides on the validation of professional experience and grants exemption from tests, in the event of total validation.
In the event of partial validation, the candidate must pass the tests from which he was not exempted by the jury to obtain the full diploma.
