Telecommuting: have your computer upgraded by your employer

Teleworking: towards 40 to 50% of jobs by 2020?

According to the forecasts of the strategic analysis center, teleworking could concern 40 to 50% of jobs by 2020. More and more employees, in particular because the headquarters of their company is too far from their home, work remotely from their home – a few days a week or continuously –. But one element sometimes comes to question the sustainability of such an organization: the slowness of the personal computer.

Today, professional software often requires much more RAM than programs intended for individuals. As a result, it is not uncommon for a personal machine to be more limited in terms of responsiveness in the context of professional use. And all the more so if the user maintains his habits by opening, for example, his personal e-mail box at the same time as well as multiple internet tabs.

Boost your personal computer thanks to your employer

It is possible to have the improvement of the performance of your computer financed by your company. To do this, you can for example highlight the waste of time begotten and the questioning your productivity, which results in particular from your unsuitable equipment. It is also always useful to remind your hierarchy that the purchase of a RAM module (from 20 euros), an SSD disk (from 100 euros) or the latest version of Windows will cost less expensive than an additional workstation.
