Remote work jobs

A certain number of jobs can now be exercised outside the walls of the company. These professions use new information and communication technologies to be able to be practiced remotely: computer, telephone, Internet, webmail, etc. Some remote workers are based from home, others frequent telecentres, coworking spaces, or work on the go. These provisions relate to:

  • secretarial jobs;

  • journalists and editors;

  • translators;

  • graphic designers;

  • commercial ;

  • Accountants ;

  • telephone salespeople and telemarketers;

  • consulting professions;

  • web professions;

  • trainers, etc.

Advantages and disadvantages of working from home

Working remotely is attractive, particularly in the form of teleworking, which allows the employee to have their salary while staying at home. It actually brings many benefits to employees, but also to employers. We observe :

  • A reduction in stress, linked to the absence of transport and the reconciliation of professional and family life.

  • More productivity because the reduction in travel frees up the employee’s time and allows them to be more efficient.

  • A feeling of freedom, which allows the worker to be able to dispose of his time as he wishes, insofar as the work is carried out.

  • Less distraction by colleagues, the environment…

  • More autonomy: managing your time gives you a feeling of self-confidence.

  • A saving for the employer who can reduce his costs on the necessary workspace, transport or absenteeism, considerably reduced.

However, there are some drawbacks to working remotely. Very often, in fact, the worker feels isolated and at odds with the business world. In addition, a lot of rigor and organization are necessary to practice your profession from home. Requirements that are not suitable for everyone. This is why, in companies, teleworking works on a voluntary basis.

As for employers, they may find it difficult to control their employees, both in terms of the hours worked and any difficulties that may arise. Not to mention distancing communications, which puts team spirit to the test.
