The DAEU, the first way to access university without a baccalaureate
The DAEU – diploma of access to university studies – is a training ofat least one year leading to a diploma giving access to university. It can be prepared at a university or from a distance thanks to the support of the CNED, the National Center for Distance Education. The student has 4 years max to earn his degree. The average duration of training is 2 years.
There are two DEAUs:
- the DAEU A which leads to the same university opportunities as the tray L (Literary) and the high school baccalaureate (Economic and Social) ;
- the DAEU B which prepares for scientific training.
The Access conditions are the following :
- have stopped studying for at least 2 years;
- be at least 18 years old 24 years or of 20 years if you have a professional experience of 2 years.
This training is a means of accessing university for non-bachelor’s graduates wishing to resume their studies as part of a professional retraining or to have a greater educational background.
Please note that this is paid training, the price of which varies according to the university.
The “capa”, another way to enter university without a baccalaureate
The certificate of capacity in law (or “capa”) is a training in 2 years which provides students with a basic knowledge of law. It is accessible to non-baccalaureate holders and can be followed in a faculty of Law or to CNED. It offers different opportunities:
- Law degree ;
- DUT legal careers;
- DUT GEA (business and administration management).
Our tips:
- If you opt for a DAEU, preferably choose a university that offers the course you want to join after graduation. You will be admitted there more easily than in other universities.
