What are recruiters looking for in a CV library?

Sometimes recruiters prefer to hunt candidates using CV libraries, such as Cadremploi. Our “CV database”, which includes 2.1 million CVs, is consulted by 15,000 recruiters actively looking for candidates.

It is an invisible but yet hyper active market. Each month, out of the 15,000 subscriber recruiters, 8,000 of them perform at least one search. Overall, to all of them, they initiate nearly 530,000 searches each month.

Recruiters are looking for candidates likely to match one or more of their vacancies. Their companies sometimes posted job openings, sometimes not. Some are in a hurry and prefer to contact candidates directly instead of waiting for them to respond to their ads. Others are in no hurry but prefer to remain discreet because the position to be filled is still occupied.

50% of recruiters have already used a CV database for at least one of their executive recruitments last year.

What are the most sought after resumes by recruiters in January 2023?

We wanted to know which CVs were most sought after by recruiters in the last 30 days. Of the thousands of searches conducted by recruiters during this period, there are peaks of interest for certain functions.

Here are the most searched positions in the last 30 days in the Cadremploi CV database:

Accounting/Audit/Management control all sectors 27%
Commercial all sectors 19%
Technical sales all sectors 14%
Commercial in distribution 12%
Sales manager all sectors 9%
HR functions 8%
Production and maintenance 6%
Engineering / R&D 5%

100%

These are of course “families” of function but this classification allows you to situate yourself.

TO REMEMBER

  • In January 2023, these are the number professions (accounting/management/finance) who are likely to be in high demand by recruiters. On the other hand, much less engineers.
  • From commercial which constitutes the largest family of functions in need of candidates (54% of requests overall), there is a particular attraction for csales representatives in the distribution sector (12% of requests over the last 30 days).
  • If you are thinking of converting to an HR function, be aware that recruiters are snapping up the profiles of “recruiters” and of payroll accountant but also to a lesser extent, HR positions.

We can’t advise you enough to submit your CV if you haven’t already done so. And if you need help designing or reviewing yours, here is our “in-house” tool to automate its creation:
