Will the US tech layoffs benefit French companies struggling to recruit?

Braids also for Air France stewards (and other info on parity)

The context

At 23, Francis earned a professional title of web and mobile web developer following intensive training last June. Since then, whoever prefers not to divulge his name (because he aspires “to do cybersecurity, so the goal is to be a ghost”), is looking for a job in the Paris region. To mark the spirits, this former chess coach decides to offer (free) games in professional fairs.

Dialogue through chess

On November 16, he placed his chessboard and his pieces in one of the central aisles of the Cloud & Cyber Security Expo, Porte de Versailles in Paris. During one day, he played about twenty games (for 5 defeats). The opportunity to show his talent as a player but also and above all to enter into judicious contact with recruiters:

I wanted to create exchange and discussion rather than stopping at my CV. During the game of chess, I wanted to share and discuss my vision of cyber security which is my career goal. My interlocutors all congratulated me for this surprising and amusing approach. They almost all scanned the QR code leading to my CV.

Francis, young Fullstack developer looking for a job

The balance sheet

A week after this initiative, no competitor has contacted him directly for work. Only one put him in touch with a qualified contact. That’s good, Francis has just applied in the box of this pure web player. To be continued!

To contact Francis, download his CV.

Story of an already legendary photo

The famous leather goods maker posted this photo on Instagram of the two footballing icons, Christiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, facing each other in a game of chess. A snapshot signed by photographer Annie Leibovitz who smashed view records as soon as it was put online. It must be said that Ronaldo and Messi are the two most followed people on Instagram and so far there have been no photos showing them together. The right ingredients for an anthology buzz.
